So, why limit my wardrobe for the next year? Why worry about where our clothes come from?
I have three reasons:
1. Image bearers should not be treated inhumanely for the sake of cheap clothing.
2. The garment industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world, deeply hurting the home God has given us.
3. Our desire for more and more for less and less, without considering the consequences, points to a deep materialism in our hearts.
As Christians, we should not find this state of affairs acceptable. So luckily, there's a fourth point--one of redemption:
4. This is not an impossible problem to solve if we all do our part in our little corner of the world.
I hope that you'll follow along as I try to find a way to make a difference--even as one small person with little influence in the world.
